These are the Directional Talon, a high-performance KA-band hand-held RADAR, and the Falcon HR, a hand-held directional K-band device. Directional Talon: Affordable Excellence
The proven accuracy of the Directional Talon hand-held RADAR comes from the use of the Doppler RADAR system and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technologies, the latter of which virtually eliminates false reading errors by linking the signals with the size and speed of each target.
The Directional Talon can either be operated as a handheld RADAR, or can be dash mounted as required. To accommodate this, mounting kits have been designed for use on police cars as well as specific motorcycle brands including Harley Davidson, Kawasaki, Honda and BMW.
Another noteworthy feature of the Directional Talon is the TruTrak™ VSS interface, which comes with a dash mount option. It allows automatic mode switching between moving and stationary, thus eliminating patrol shadowing and combining errors. Working in direct sunlight is also not a problem with the Directional Talon, thanks to its high contrast LCD display, which additionally includes a backlight for seamless nighttime operations.
Falcon HR: Outstanding Performance At A Fraction Of The Cost
Just like the Directional Talon, the Falcon HR offers the same functionality as any leading RADAR at a considerably lower price point. What makes this hand-held RADAR unique is its extended battery life, thanks to a low-power antenna that delivers great accuracy while consuming considerably less energy. Unlike the Directional Talon, it uses a directional K-band RADAR, which is often considered to be one of the best options for speed enforcement.
Both the Falcon HR and Directional Talon can be upgraded to moving operations, and feature the TruTrak™ VSS interface and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) function. Mounting kits are also available for a variety of police cars and motorcycle models. A smooth daylight and night operation is possible due to its LCD non-multiplexed display and LED backlight. Lastly, all accessories developed for the Falcon HR are interchangeable with the Directional Talon family, including battery handle and pod mount.
