Lenexa, KS, June 1, 2017 – Kustom Signals, Inc. announced today that they have the first and currently only Ka-band traffic safety RADAR certified for legal distribution in Canada that meets the new RSS210 standard. Two product families offered by Kustom Signals that utilize Ka-band frequencies are now listed on the Radio Equipment List (REL) published by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) as radio equipment certified for use in Canada.
The Eagle II Family has two models approved for use in Canada and may be customized to fit your agency’s needs. Golden Eagle II and Directional Golden Eagle II feature Fastest Vehicle mode, Same Direction mode and Stopwatch mode. Directional Golden Eagle II provides directional indication of targets.
The Raptor RP-1™ includes patented DuraTrak™ target tracking bars that improve confidence in target identification. Raptor introduces patent pending options like the Assisted Fork Test which guides the user improving the ease, speed and accuracy of the tuning fork test. The patent pending certification notification with an optional expiration lockout assists departments with equipment certification management and courtroom credibility. Each Raptor RP-1 may be programmed with a desired certification interval and a selectable warning period before the certification expires. Other new options include a count-up timer that displays the elapsed time since the target speed was locked, and the ability to print citations with a new serial printer.
Both Eagle II and Raptor RP-1 include Kustom patented features TruTrak™ and Smart Patrol Search. TruTrak VSS interface enables automatic mode switching between moving and stationary modes, and virtually eliminates shadowing and combining. Smart Patrol Search enables the user to eliminate bad patrol speeds when the speedometer input is not connected.
