Kustom Insights: All You Need To Know About The Eagle 3

At Kustom Signals, helping our customers keep our communities’ roads safer is the biggest motivation behind our quest for constant innovation, and the Eagle 3 in-car RADAR is just another proof of this.

It’s all about simplicity

For more than 20 years, the patented TruTrak™ Vehicle Speed Sense (VSS) has been a major feature of Kustom Signal RADARs. This function takes the pulses from the patrol vehicle’s speedometer and syncs with the Kustom RADAR, while also independently verifying the Doppler patrol speed, which makes RADAR anomalies like shadowing, batching, and combining a thing of the past.

Previously, locating and connecting into the electronic speedometer signal was a rather tedious task for traffic officers, but a simplified vehicle integration is now possible with the remarkably precise Wireless Speed Sensing (WSS) system that the Eagle 3 comes with. Tracking front- and rear-targets while moving is also easier with the color touch screen, from which the RADAR can be completely operated in coordination with the front panel or RF remote.

All data from locked targets, fork tests and GPS-marked locations is stored on the Eagle 3’s internal memory, and can be easily downloaded into a spreadsheet for analysis. But another feature that makes this RADAR so special is the eFork™ electronic tuning fork included in the remote. This replaces traditional tuning forks and enables more simplified testing procedures through a more advanced method. The patented DuraTrak™ tracking bars also improve target confidence.

Aiming to make the Eagle 3 a fully versatile tool, we have also developed a series of mounting kits for law enforcement vehicles, all of which you can see here.

What do users say?

Hearing back from our customers is key to our product development. So, to find out what exactly users think about the Eagle 3, we decided to ask them directly. Our poll revealed that more than 71% consider that the device consistently acquires Stationary and Moving Opposite targets at a notably greater range than the RADAR they previously relied on.

The most gratifying finding, however, was that 100% of respondents feel that the different colors and change of display position to indicate front- and rear-targets makes it easier to understand in comparison with other RADAR. All respondents also agreed that the color display is more favorable during nighttime.
